Creating STEMeez—a bold, fun brand and learning platform designed to make STEM engaging and inspire more girls to pursue STEM careers.

STEMeez, a joint initiative with Swinburne, Melbourne, and Deakin Universities, needed a brand and platform that made STEM learning exciting and accessible—particularly for girls. The challenge was to create something that felt inclusive, fun, and inspiring while appealing to a wide range of children. With a focus on interactivity, mascots, and gamified learning, the program required a cohesive strategy, visual identity, and UX design that supported educators, students, and content creators alike.

We built STEMeez from the ground up, starting with a deep-dive brand strategy that included internal workshops and interviews with both internal and external stakeholders.
his process allowed us to fully understand the program’s goals, audience, and opportunities. From there, we developed the name ‘STEMeez’—a playful, memorable brand designed to resonate with children and inspire curiosity. We created a fun, approachable tone of voice and mood boards to guide the visual direction. The logo became the foundation for a suite of illustrations, including custom mascots, “The MEEZYs,” which we designed in multiple poses. With UX strategy and interactive content guidelines, we delivered a framework to keep the learning platform engaging, flexible, and consistent.

The website and app designs balance engaging visuals with intuitive navigation, ensuring a seamless experience for both learners and educators. Interactive content guidelines empower content creators to build games and quizzes that stay true to the brand’s playful identity. While development is ongoing, STEMeez is already being recognised as a vibrant, standout resource for future STEM leaders.
